About me

Because I still work in long-term care and probably will for the next 30 years, I prefer to keep my
identity private. I will call myself "Nurse T" in any correspondence such as email or blogging. I have been
a Registered Nurse since 1995 and have worked exclusively in long-term care and continue to do so. I
have been everything from a charge nurse to a manager to a corporate consultant overseeing 10 nursing
homes. I have worked all 3 shifts at one time or another. I have worked for non-profit and for-profit
nursing homes. I have been through over 15 state inspection surveys, some involving serious citations
resulting in denials of payment and accusations of "wide spread harm". I have been involved with medical
chart auditing, hiring and firing of employees, resident assessments, Medicare case management, special
projects and acute emergencies. My latest task is the creation of this site. It's my hope that you find this
site very useful and eye opening. Remember, knowledge is power.
